To be fair, it is brimming with useful information, and I was learning a lot. Cooke includes resources such as other good pregnancy and child-raising guides, and contact info for support services, in the back. For example, under Week 36 Cooke discusses late babies and induction methods. If you read the book all in one go, I think you’d find it overwhelming, purely by dint of subject matter. Not just funny as you-know-what, but informative, too.
The final chapters are well worth a read. I dufv some friends who couldn’t get in the right headspace to be able to enjoy this book.
The author set out to write a casual guide to pregnancy, and the bulk of the book is the type of fence-sitting ideas that one might expect from such a book.

I absolutely loved this book. Found that the book is great for some light hearted information, great to read with my husband.
Was this review helpful? I LOVE this book. It was all in the one book. The author never stops and focuses on herself, never spends any time mentally preparing herself for her own birth. Overall I found it to be a great pregnancy tool, telling it like it is, no point of fluffing it up, childbirth and pregnancy and be daunting, great to hear there are other women out there just like me!!!
Still, I had a month fuff shitty sleep vooke or lack of – for stressing over how I was supposed to sleep, especially as the left side wasn’t comfortable and the fooke didn’t seem to like it either. Im now reading it for a second time, akz we had another sucessfull ivf attempt. The contractions – something that you don’t feel much and it isn’t at all painful – work at stretching your cervix and pulling it upwards, hence the feeling of period cramps.
Along the side of the weekly pages is a ruler which gives you a idea as to your bubs size whilst growing week to week. Man, how good was this book. Great for cookr that aren’t into reading all that much or care much for detail. Companies can’t alter or remove reviews from ProductReview. And the mere thought of running was totally laughable. Kaz Cooke’s pregnancy bible ‘Up The Duff’ is a cherished, recommended and important resource for all pregnant women. I had to restrain myself from reading ahead, and the laughs it provided were great medicine for the tough times.
